Holmes sat calmly by the fire, smoking his pipe, his thoughts drifting off, as Watson and Mrs. Hudson entered the sitting room with two trays. One filled with plates and silverware and napkins. The other filled with scones, coffee and tea, with tiny pots of honey, sugar and butter.

They set them down on the table and began scooting scones on the plates. Finished, Watson turned to Holmes.

"Hungry yet?"

Holmes shook his head to clear it. "What?"

Mrs. Hudson walked over to him and gave him a hug. "Sherlock, you think too much! Come dear, you need something in your stomach, though not so much as my dear sweet John evidently," she said as Watson grabbed three scones at once to put on his plate.

Holmes laughed. "I submit to your superior wisdom, Mrs. Hudson."

He placed his pipe on the mantel in its crib, and then joined them at the table. He sat down, scooted his chair in and spread his napkin on his lap.

He took his fork and knife and began dissecting the scone on his plate much like always, cutting it into tiny sections, which he would spear with his fork tines and then place in his mouth.

"It occurs to me, Holmes," Watson spoke between bites. "That you omitted one bit of evidence as to how you figured out the double J on the knife."

Holmes peered at Watson expectantly.

Watson smiled, knowing that look well.

"I swear to you, Holmes, one day death will come knocking at your door," Harold Pinter shouted as he was led off by Constable Evans in handcuffs. "He will knock twice and you will be dead forever! Forever, do you hear?" Harold shouted even louder.

Holmes laughed.

Watson grinned.

"Yes, I do remember that quite clearly. Being that I have perfect memory," Holmes added with a grin.

"Which doesn't hurt to have a little nudge to it every now and then," Watson teased.

Mrs. Hudson smiled and put a hand on each of theirs briefly. "You two are more and more like brothers every day."

She gave Watson a confused look for a moment. "You explained how Harry figured out the T, but what does Harold Pinter have to do with any of it? She asked. He was obviously a deluded man."

Holmes smiled and explained, 'The clue that made me see the Tee clearly on the knife was one he had given me by accident...'He will knock twice.'"

"And then you will be dead forever," Mrs. Hudson said.

"Janus is the two faced God, Mrs. Hudson." Holmes explained. "One part says the truth; the other does not."

Her face brightened. "He was giving you a clue through that poor man then?"

"Indeed he was."

"But he was not Janus," she pointed out.

"No, my dear Mrs. Hudson, but he had been touched by the knife and those who touch it can be used by Janus to do what he will."

Watson gave Holmes a look of utter terror for a moment. "I touched the knife, Holmes!"

Holmes smiled. "Actually, you did not. That was merely a duplicate I had made to fool Lumley and Mansfield.
